Costa Rica is a paradise where lush rainforests, volcanic landscapes, and pristine beaches come together to create an unforgettable escape. From thrilling excursions to relaxing beach days, our week-long adventure was the perfect mix of exploration and rejuvenation. Here’s a day-by-day recap of our incredible journey from April 2024!

Day 1: Welcome to Paradise – Westin Reserva Conchal

After arriving in Costa Rica, we made our way to the Westin Reserva Conchal, an all-inclusive resort nestled along the stunning Pacific coast. The moment we stepped onto the property, we were greeted with lush tropical gardens, warm hospitality, and the irresistible scent of the ocean breeze. We spent the afternoon unwinding by the pool, indulging in fresh local cuisine, and soaking in the pura vida vibes.

Day 2: Exploring Rio Celeste, Sloth Tour & Cacao Farm

Our first full day was packed with adventure! We embarked on an excursion to Rio Celeste, where the surreal, sky-blue waters looked like something out of a dream. The hike through Tenorio Volcano National Park was breathtaking, with dense jungle, waterfalls, and the famous “Blue Lagoon” as highlights.

Next, we visited a sloth sanctuary, where we spotted these adorable creatures lazily hanging from the trees. The day ended with a stop at a cacao farm, where we learned about the chocolate-making process and sampled some of the richest, most delicious Costa Rican chocolate.

Day 3: Beach Bliss & Family Photos at Playa Conchal

After an adventure-filled day, we took things slow with a relaxing beach day at Playa Conchal. The beach, known for its crushed seashell shoreline and crystal-clear waters, was the perfect spot for swimming and sunbathing. We wrapped up the day with a professional family photo session to capture the memories of this tropical paradise.

Day 4: Thrills & Nature – Ziplines, Horseback Riding & Hot Springs

Costa Rica is known for its adventure tourism, and today was all about pushing our limits! We soared through the jungle on ziplines, galloped along scenic trails on horseback, and then unwound at a hot spring and mud bath. The excursion also included an exhilarating waterslide, making it a perfect mix of adrenaline and relaxation.

Day 5: Resort Relaxation at Westin Reserva Conchal

After so much excitement, we dedicated this day to pure relaxation. The Westin Reserva Conchal spoiled us with its luxurious pools, gourmet dining, and beachside tranquility. Whether sipping a tropical cocktail by the infinity pool or getting a spa treatment, it was the perfect way to recharge.

Day 6: Transfer to Tabacón Resort & Natural Hot Springs

It was time to switch up the scenery as we traveled to Tabacón Resort in La Fortuna, a world-renowned hot spring retreat near Arenal Volcano. The natural hot springs here, heated by volcanic activity, were like stepping into a tropical paradise. We spent the evening soaking in the mineral-rich waters, surrounded by lush rainforest.

Day 7: Hiking Arenal Volcano & Exploring La Fortuna

We couldn’t leave Costa Rica without experiencing Arenal Volcano up close! Our morning hike took us through lava fields, dense rainforest, and scenic viewpoints with spectacular views of the iconic volcano. After our adventure, we explored downtown La Fortuna, where we browsed local markets, tasted traditional Costa Rican dishes, and enjoyed the lively atmosphere of this charming town.

Day 8: Heading Home with Memories to Last a Lifetime

As we packed our bags and said goodbye to Costa Rica, we couldn’t help but reflect on the incredible experiences we had over the past week. From breathtaking landscapes to heart-pounding adventures and serene moments of relaxation, Costa Rica truly lived up to its reputation as a dream destination.
