Spring Break in Music City: 5 Days in Nashville, TN

There’s no place quite like Nashville when it comes to energy, music, food, and Southern charm—and our spring break trip proved just that. From legendary honky tonks to rooftop views, hot chicken to heartfelt ballads, we packed our five days full of unforgettable experiences. Here’s a recap of our Music City getaway!

Day 1: Honky Tonk Highway & Hot Chicken Heaven

We arrived early in Nashville and dropped our bags at the TownePlace Suites Downtown, ready to hit the ground running. Our walk toward Lower Broadway took us through the historic and moody Printers Alley, setting the tone for the days ahead.

First stop? Hattie B’s Hot Chicken—a Nashville must. We ordered medium heat chicken (just enough kick!), bacon cheddar grits, and Southern-style greens. Every bite was perfection.

With full bellies and high spirits, we explored the family-friendly side of Broadway’s famous honky tonks – most of which allow children before 6 PM. We made stops at:

Whiskey Row

Morgan Wallen’s This Bar

Casa Rosa (Miranda Lambert’s rooftop is a vibe!)

Blake Shelton’s Ole Red

Jason Aldean’s Kitchen + Rooftop Bar

Luke’s 32 Bridge

Luke Combs’ Category 10 – a top favorite of the day!

Dinner took us to Lainey Wilson’s Bell Bottoms Up, where we sipped on watermelon moonshine and soaked in the retro-chic atmosphere.

We ended our night with a sweet Southern treat from Goo Goo Clusters.

Day 2: Murals, Music Legends & the Listening Room

We started our morning in The Gulch, grabbing breakfast at the ever-popular Biscuit Love (because no one does biscuits like Nashville).

Afterward, we explored some of the city’s most Instagrammable murals including:

What Lifts You

Candy Hearts

Hear This Nashville

Next, we hopped on the Old Town Trolley Tour, giving us a scenic, narrated ride through the city. Highlights included a stop at Centennial Park to check out the full-scale replica of the Parthenon, and a stroll through Midtown, where we had lunch at Midtown Café.

In the afternoon, we headed to the rooftop of the Graduate Hotel to visit White Limozeen, inspired by Dolly Parton—bright, pink, and perfectly over-the-top.

Back downtown, we walked through the hallowed halls of the Ryman Auditorium, soaking in the history before heading to Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge for classic Nashville vibes.

That evening was a highlight of the trip: The Listening Room Café, where we experienced the powerful, all-female singer-songwriter showcase Song Suffragettes. Incredible voices, stories, and energy paired with dinner made it a night to remember.

Day 3: More Music, Rooftops & the Grand Ole Opry

We kicked off Day 3 with breakfast at the iconic Pancake Pantry.

then spent the morning exploring the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Before the afternoon rush, we grabbed another round of treats at Goo Goo Clusters (because why not?).

Back on Broadway, we discovered even more live music:

Jelly Roll’s Goodnight Nashville

Eric Church’s Chief’s – where we made it to the rooftop and sampled the legendary “Chair” drink

Lunch was a delicious challenge—so many opinions, we ended up at Assembly Food Hall, which offered something for everyone. A quick stop at Little Words Project gave my daughter the chance to craft her own personalized bracelet—an adorable and meaningful souvenir.

Then it was time for the grand finale: a night at the Grand Ole Opry. With front row seats, we saw amazing performances by Priscilla BlockRunaway June, and more. The backstage tour afterward gave us a true behind-the-scenes look at this iconic venue.

Day 4: Southern Comfort & Songwriters’ Stories

No visit to Nashville is complete without breakfast at the legendary Loveless Café—fluffy biscuits, crispy bacon, and that cozy country charm.

We made our way to the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum, where we dove deep into the stories and instruments behind the hits. The day wrapped up with more live music and dinner on lower Broadway, a perfect low-key night full of storytelling and soul.

Day 5: Farewell, Nashville

Before hitting the road, we grabbed one last country-style breakfast (because we just couldn’t resist), said our goodbyes to this vibrant city, and promised ourselves we’d be back soon.

Nashville, you rocked our spring break. We left with full hearts, happy stomachs, and memories that’ll last a lifetime.
